About the role

The Town of Leesburg seeks an experienced and innovative individual to join their team. Located in the heart of DC's Wine Country, this community offers a blend of rural charm and urban amenities.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering and construction plans for compliance with codes, regulations, and Town standards.
  • Supervise the Transportation Division and pavement management program, including bridge inspections and maintenance.
  • Support the Director of Public Works with personnel management, bonding program oversight, and day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with coursework in civil engineering.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of civil engineering experience, including at least three (3) years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Current P.E. registration in Virginia, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in civil, environmental, construction management, engineering management, or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
