Deputy Director of Information Technology - (Help Program) Cortland County Information Technology
About the role
The incumbent assists in planning, directing and coordinating all county IT operations and activities, establishing IT policies, procedures and standards, and coordinating and administering IT contracts.
The incumbent also either directly provides or assigns IT personnel to provide technical assistance and advice to county departments regarding the identification and solution of a variety of data processing and systems design and analysis problems.
The work is performed under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, with leeway allowed for the use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work.
Supervision is exercised over the work of subordinate staff.
Does related work as required.

Qualifications
- Either: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher including or supplemented by sixty (60) credit hours in information systems management, computer science, information technology or a closely related field and two (2) years of paid work experience in network administration or information systems administration;
- Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher including or supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours in coursework defined in (a) and four (4) years of paid work experience in network administration or information systems management;
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency diploma and six (6) years of paid work experience in network administration or information systems management:
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a), (b), and (c), or other experience that can demonstrate the ability to perform all duties.

Must possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
