Duties
- Aid the IT Administrator (Director) in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the operations of the IT Department.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management for assigned technical staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of the organization's server infrastructure, operating systems, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and cloud-based environments.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, performance, and security of critical information systems and network services through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and incident management.
- Develop, implement, and enforce information technology policies, procedures, standards, and best practices related to systems administration, network management, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery.
- Manage technology projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, cloud migrations, cybersecurity improvements, and network enhancements.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contract administration, procurement activities, and service-level agreements related to infrastructure and network services.
- Provide advanced technical guidance and serve as an escalation point for complex technology issues.
- Assume responsibility for departmental operations and decision-making in the absence of the Director of Information Technology.
- Directly supervise system administrators, network administrators, and security personnel.
- Establish performance expectations and work priorities. Assign and review work, monitor productivity, and ensure service levels are achieved.
- Provide mentoring, professional development opportunities, and succession planning for technical staff.
- Address employee relations matters in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of undergraduate core program coursework in information technology, Computer Science, Network Engineer, or related discipline.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- At least 3 years of experience working with Microsoft or Linux server, systems, and software environments.
- Professional certification such as ITIL Foundation or VMWare certification or a Microsoft Server/Cloud administration certification, or equivalent, preferred.
