Deputy City Clerk
About the role
The City Clerk’s Office is seeking a Deputy City Clerk to support City Council meetings and public hearings by preparing agendas, recording proceedings, and ensuring follow-up on Council actions. In this role, you’ll also help maintain accuracy and compliance by reviewing and processing key city documents, legal notices, resolutions, ordinances, and meeting minutes, along with technical records and the Municipal Code.
Responsibilities
- Support City Council meetings and public hearings by preparing agendas, recording and transcribing proceedings, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.
- Review and process official records, including ordinances, resolutions, minutes, legal notices, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.
- Certify official documents and administer oaths or acknowledgments in the absence of the City Clerk.
- Aid with budget development, monitoring, and expenditure oversight for the City Clerk’s Office.

Qualifications
- Experience with municipal government administrative support work.
- Experience as a Clerk, including experience in writing and training policies and procedures.
- Experience supporting public meetings, including preparing agendas, recording proceedings, transcribing minutes, and tracking follow-up action items.
- Experience as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC).

Pay
The starting salary for this position is $60,000 per year.
Schedule
The initial schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with the potential to transition to a hybrid schedule after the first six months.
