Deputy Chief Engineer
Responsibilities
- Set the technical vision and direction for programs, collaborating with internal technical staff and external customers
- Lead multidisciplinary teams developing algorithms, software, cloud, and data management solutions
- Manage program execution, ensuring schedule and budget adherence, and overseeing successful program delivery
- Cultivate strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders, advocating for MORSE's technology and services
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding our portfolio and driving long-term growth
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to program team members
Requirements
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on AI/ML, cloud computing, and/or decision systems
- Proven leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing high-performing technical teams
- Deep understanding of software development principles, methods, and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to absorb complex technical information quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure is nice to have
