Deputy Building Official

About the role

The Deputy Building Official supervises the inspection and plan review staff to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and laws governing the construction, use, and occupancy of buildings, structures, and land. This position acts as the Chief Building Official in their absence and provides direct support in the management of permitting, inspection, and enforcement functions.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree and 8 years of experience (or related combination of education and experience)
• Building Code Administrator license/certification
• Building Inspector license/certification
• Building Plan Examiner license/certification

Reports to the Chief Building Official.
