About the role

The University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior are offering two faculty positions within the Noel Drury, M.D. Institute for Translational Depression Discoveries. The vision for the Depression Institute is to transform our understanding of depression's origins, treatment, and prevention, while enhancing societal well-being.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be able to mount a productive and innovative research program, obtain extramural funding, and actively participate in mentoring (e.g., undergraduate or graduate students, medical students, psychiatry residents, and/or postdoctoral trainees).

Candidates will benefit from outstanding resources and collaborators across departments and schools. We are seeking candidates – at the Assistant (Tenure-Track), Associate or Full (Tenured) Professor rank – for the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior whose research will complement existing strengths and research foci.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application): Applicants are expected to have advanced degrees.

Skills

Successful candidates will be expected to develop externally funded research programs, engage in mentoring/teaching, and contribute their leadership and innovative thinking towards global prominence in depression research.
