About the role
This position is responsible for leading weekly planned and emergency deployments for PPL Customer Service applications. The Deployment Coordinator orchestrates pre-deployment activities, secures required technical resources, and maintains comprehensive deployment documentation while facilitating cross-functional communication and readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly planned and emergency deployments for PPL Customer Service applications
- Orchestrate and coordinate pre-deployment activities
- Secure required Cloud support, Database support, and other technical resources
- Maintain deployment schedules, checklists, implementation plans, and readiness tracking materials
- Maintain a deployment registry documenting successful, failed, and postponed deployments
- Conduct weekly business touchpoint meetings to review test plans, confirm post-deployment validation coverage, and align teams on deployment readiness expectations
- Facilitate deployment readiness meetings and go/no-go discussions
- Coordinate deployment communications and post-deployment follow-ups
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters across the value stream to support successful releases
- Remove technical barriers before and during deployments
- Assist business partners with deployment-readiness troubleshooting, including access and permissions issues affecting QA test scripts
- Coordinate validation activities and confirm completion of smoke testing, business verification, and operational handoffs
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive accountability and maintain Root Cause Analysis outcomes
- Maintain communication among vendors, contractors, and PPL IT
- Minimize QA environment overlaps and mitigate dependency risks that could delay application releases
- Identify and escalate deployment blockers, schedule conflicts, environment readiness concerns, risks and issues, required approvals, and open action items
- Drive deployment issues and action items through successful completion
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of deployment, release, change, and implementation coordination practices
- Ability to organize complex deployment activities across multiple teams, systems, environments, vendors, and contractors
- Skilled in managing deployment schedules, checklists, dependencies, risks and issues, approvals, action items, deployment records, and recurring communication cadences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing stakeholder updates, organizational deployment communications, and executive-ready status summaries
- Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with production support, DevOps, change management, QA environments, application release environments, and post-deployment validation practices
Agile / Digital Experience
- Support Agile delivery teams and coordinate release activities across sprints, program increments, projects, and value stream milestones
- Understand relationships and responsibilities across Product Owners, Scrum Masters, technical leads, testing teams, operations, business stakeholders, vendors, and contractors
- Manage release readiness, deployment tasks, implementation dependencies, test plan alignment, and validation activities within backlogs or release plans
- Coordinate cross-functional release activities to ensure alignment between Agile delivery and deployment requirements

- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
Schedule
- Flexible schedule with availability to support deployments from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM once or twice per week
- Willingness to provide occasional weekend support for larger releases
