Independently performs clerical duties or accounting support using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Analyzes data for accuracy and completeness, solves problems, and makes recommendations for improvements. Uses specialty department software and performs department-specific tasks while interacting effectively with members, co-workers, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Independently provide clerical and/or accounting support.
  • Create, maintain, and edit specialty databases and spreadsheets for the department.
  • Analyze data and information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify errors in data, make corrections, and solve problems.
  • Generate custom and standard reports using Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, ensuring clear communication of the report’s objective.
  • Compose short correspondence clearly and effectively.
  • Format Word documents following standard business protocols.
  • Format PowerPoint slides to enhance and clearly communicate the message.
  • Work with department-specific computer systems and software and perform department-specific tasks.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Organize and prioritize duties to meet work demands.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of work experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong math and composition skills.
  • Ability to use networked computer (email, KP intranet, internet). Must pass basic PC skills test.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Must pass software tests at the intermediate level.
  • Specialized knowledge for the department as applicable.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
  • Ability to work accurately with a high volume of work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct, including dealing courteously, tactfully, and patiently with members, physicians, co-workers, and clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of department policies and procedures and utilize an understanding of other departments' functions.
  • Must pass medical terminology test when applicable.
  • Must be willing to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

  • Workdays: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun
  • Working Hours Start: 10:45 PM
  • Working Hours End: 07:15 AM
  • Job Schedule: Call-in/On-Call

Pay

$37.42 - $41.35 / hour. Kaiser Permanente strives to offer a market-competitive total rewards package and is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted pay range is based on possible base salaries for the role and does not reflect the full value of the total rewards package. Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
