About the role
Provide administrative support in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors, directing them to appropriate departments and informing them of wait times.
- Perform secretarial tasks such as physician order entry, organizing patient charts, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Manage incoming calls, relay messages accurately, and exercise discretion in communications.
- Ensure waiting and work areas are tidy, organized, and safe for visitors and staff.
- Utilize computer systems and office equipment effectively, including communication devices and clinical documentation systems.
- Order and restock office supplies, perform minor equipment repairs, and serve as a liaison between hospital departments.
- Promote positive patient interactions with a caring and empathetic approach, advocating for patient- and family-centered care.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and active listening to ensure clarity among patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
