Department of Anesthesiology - Assistant Professor - Cardiothoracic

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking board eligible/board certified anesthesiologists to join our Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology team.

Responsibilities

• Case mix includes open and minimally invasive CABGs and valve surgery, heart and lung transplants, open and endovascular aortic repairs, VAD insertions, thoracic surgery, EP procedures, and structural heart interventions.
• 100% Adult CT is available (no general, no pediatrics, OB, or trauma).
• CT team takes home call, exclusively for CT cases, with generous pre- and post-call time.
• Robust and collaborative care team model provides exceptional resources and peer support.
• Medical direction: 1:2, 1:3.

Requirements

• M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
• Eligible to apply for a medical license in the state of Georgia.
• American Board of Anesthesiology board certified/eligible.
• National Board of Echocardiography Advanced Perioperative TEE board certified/eligible.
• Experience with thoracic transplants, aortic surgery, and mechanical support a plus.

Qualifications

• Initial academic rank is based on prior experience and a detailed CV review – positions available for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
• Criteria for faculty appointment include excellence across clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity.

Pay

Salary is rank-based with additional productivity-based compensation for call and evening/weekend work.
