Department Manager, Leathergoods
About the Role
As a Department Manager for Leathergoods, you will take ownership of a department or floor's performance, leading and proactively coaching a team of client advisors to achieve individual, departmental, and store targets. You will support the Store Manager/Director in developing new and existing clients while building a passionate, highly motivated, and talented team to secure succession plans.
Responsibilities
- Team Management and Development
- Lead the team to drive and deliver business goals, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Define individual and team goals, regularly reviewing, managing, and coaching performance.
- Provide qualitative feedback and "in-the-moment" coaching to maximize impact.
- Identify, recruit, and develop talent in collaboration with the Store Manager/Director to secure succession plans.
- Role model sales techniques and support the team in achieving KPIs.
- Develop the team’s ability to build long-lasting client relationships using available resources and tools.
- Communicate company messages passionately during briefings, training, and one-on-one meetings.
- Support and guide new joiners to ensure a positive onboarding experience.
- Client Experience
- Manage customer flow to ensure each client receives the correct level of service without being left unattended.
- Cultivate a client-centric mindset to deliver the highest level of experience.
- Develop the customer database by optimizing data capture and integrity.
- Product Focus
- Drive sales for an assigned product category, analyzing performance and creating action plans for improvement.
- Grow the team’s technical knowledge of the product category to enhance KPI performance (e.g., sales, cross-selling, UPT).
- Share feedback with the regional team on product performance, customer insights, and market trends.
- Operations
- Lead the store in the absence of senior management, including opening/closing and resolving client issues.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Oversee inventory management and maintain accurate records.
- Perform additional management duties as required.

Pay
The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 to $115,000 salary, dependent on relevant skills and experience.
