About the Role
Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure work is executed on time, aligns with client requirements, and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability.
- Oversee daily department operations, including staff training, development, performance reviews, equipment utilization, safety oversight, service quality, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and adherence to policies.
- Plan and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities while building and maintaining client relationships.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates with support from the Office Manager.
- Develop and manage employee staffing plans, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding, with Office Manager support.
- Prepare and execute the annual business plan for the department with Office Manager support.
- Oversee and manage key department metrics: revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
- Develop an understanding of project-related risks, including familiarity with potential issues and company risk policies.
- Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring adherence to safety rules and guidelines, and promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Monitor and promote continuous quality improvement and consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology) and 5 years of practice experience, or a minimum of 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or licensure in field of expertise.
- Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred.
