About the role

As a Department Manager, you’ll lead your team to create an inclusive culture that supports collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Sales & Profit
    • Ensure the total OMNI customer experience in your store, maintaining visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
    • Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
    • Aware of and take responsibility for your department's strengths and commercial opportunities, and act on them.
    • Create and analyze sales and budget goals, and develop plans to optimize results and profits.
    • Follow up on customer service in all areas of the store and ensure your team can promote and sell products to customers.
    • Manage your department in a cost-efficient way.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as transactions, returns, and exchanges.
    • Update and maintain BOH areas for all colleagues, including key information, health and safety, and tidiness.
  • Fashion & Trend Awareness
    • Keep up-to-date with the fashion scene, trends, tendencies, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers.
    • Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge as well as other relevant information during customer interactions.
  • Team & Development
    • Recruit, onboard, and develop your team in-store.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning to support business and team needs.
    • Share your knowledge and skills with your team and collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser team.
    • Communicate regularly with store colleagues through daily, weekly meetings, and other forms of communication.
    • Ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements in all areas of the store are followed.
    • Participate in relevant onboarding and training processes.
  • Retail Operations & Visual & Commercial Execution
    • Secure a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house, including stockroom areas.
    • Ensure high fashion quality, visual, and commercial product presentation, with good garment care.
    • Manage stock levels and provide input on allocation to the Area team.
    • Secure a strong balance and maintenance of price signs in-store and throughout the sales floor/store, following guidelines according to global and local strategies and sales market/regional requirements.
    • Secure the full garment cycle – from delivery to garment presentation – and fitting room routines according to internal standards and routines.
    • Secure in-store OMNI Services & in-store tech services/tools, etc. (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store etc).
    • Secure a strong balance and the maintenance of price signs in-store and throughout the sales floor/store following guidelines according to global and local strategies & sales market/regional requirements to ensure a strong and consistent price perception throughout store.
    • Update and maintain BOH areas for all colleagues, including key information, health and safety, and tidiness.

    • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on taking responsibility for others.
    • Effective communication, supportiveness, analytical problem-solving, and capability in managing numbers and statistics.
    • Highly achievement-oriented, motivated by performance and competition, and customer-centric.

    Benefits

    • Compensation: expected base salary range is 20.90-24.04 hourly.
