Department Manager - Clothing & Footwear - Putnam, CT

About the role

Department Manager of the Clothing & Footwear department, responsible for merchandising, sales, and delivering the highest level of customer service. Reports to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Implement theft tag prevention measures.
• Work closely with Retail Buyer(s) to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized department.
• Ensure safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of clothing, footwear, and accessories.
• Ability to work an irregular schedule, including days, nights, every other weekend, and/or holidays.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and twist frequently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Customer service training and/or experience preferred.

Pay

$17.00–$18.50 per hour, depending on experience.
