What You’ll Do
As a Department Manager, you will own a department, focusing on maximizing its sales, inventory, and standards. You’ll impact the business daily by:
- Managing inventory and moving product in accordance with customer demand
- Reviewing and managing planograms and period layouts
- Being commercial—knowing what is trending and ordering merchandise daily to drive sales
- Monitoring the local market to maintain a competitive advantage in price, product, and shopping experience
- Using data to gain full knowledge of your department’s performance, driving sales, meeting targets, and managing stock file accuracy
- Hiring, training, coaching, and motivating a team of Sales Associates and Team Leaders to deliver an exceptional shopping experience and a positive work environment
- Supporting store management with the protection of people, property, and premises by securing cash, stock, and property
- Handling keyholder responsibilities, including availability for emergency call-outs
- Effectively managing difficult situations and solving problems
You must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, to provide instruction, coaching, corrective action, safety instructions, and lead teams. You’ll also provide amazing customer service in English, including oral communication with customers and monitoring the performance of English-speaking colleagues.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 2 years of retail leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or Department Manager
- Ability to adapt and flex plans and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to relate to customers’ needs
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team, building confidence and enthusiasm
- Resilience and confidence in giving constructive feedback
- Commercial awareness, including understanding of the local market, key competitors, and how to use systems/tools to improve option control and drive sales
- Good planning and organizational skills, prioritizing and working within agreed timescales

Pay
The pay range for this role is $65,520 - $80,080. This is a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum we would pay for this role at the time of posting. The base pay rate offered will account for internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
