Department Manager

About the role

The job is for a Manager in a McDonald's restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is a separate company and employer, and McDonald’s USA has no control over employment matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts to ensure customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Manage assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
• Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to teams and other managers.
• Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience.
• Manage Sales Promotions and train Service Staff in procedures.
• Organize Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
• Ensure the restaurant delivers high-quality food and fast service.
• Control food costs and train Kitchen Staff in production procedures.
• Hire, train, and schedule qualified crew members to meet sales and profit goals.
• Support Crew in getting off to a good start and recognizing and motivating them throughout their time working.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in a corporate-owned McDonald’s restaurant.

Pay

Starting pay rate is $16 an hour, higher for experienced managers. Additional bonuses and vacation pay are offered.
