Department Manager

About the Role

As a Department Manager at McDonald’s, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every customer enjoys a fast, accurate, and friendly experience during each visit. In addition to leading weekly shifts, some managers take on the added responsibility of overseeing Departments. These managers are responsible for managing assigned systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management. Key responsibilities include setting goals, delegating tasks to team members, following up on progress, and reporting results to both their teams and fellow managers.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

Hospitality Manager

• Ensure both Crew members and Managers consistently deliver outstanding customer experience.
• Carry out sales promotions effectively.
• Train service staff in service procedures.
• Organize the Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive-Thru areas to provide the best possible service.

Production Manager

• Guarantee the restaurant serves high-quality food quickly and safely.
• Control food costs.
• Train all kitchen staff in production procedures, including preparation of new menu items.

People Manager

• Hire qualified crew members and provide thorough training.
• Schedule staff to meet the restaurant’s sales and profit objectives.
• Ensure new Crew members have a positive start.
• Recognize and motivate employees throughout their tenure.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience is preferred, especially within restaurants, retail, or hospitality settings.
• Must be a positive, team-oriented individual with a flexible schedule.
• Passion for working in McDonald’s fast-paced environment.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
