Department Manager
McDonald’s Restaurants are driven by a team of leaders that include Shift Managers, Department Managers, and General Managers. We have an outstanding opportunity for you at one of our 11 locally owned and operated McDonald's restaurants.
About the Role
This role is ideal if you are dedicated to excellent hospitality management and have a passion for leadership. You will ensure smooth restaurant operations, manage controls, coach crew, and support the General Manager in achieving store goals. You may also lead a specific department such as Kitchen, People, or Guest Services.
Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent operations in Quality, Service, and Cleanliness throughout each shift without supervision.
- Manage Restaurant Controls such as labor cost, inventory, and cash procedures on a daily basis.
- Follow and enforce all restaurant safety and security policies and procedures.
- Coach and follow up on crew to ensure excellent operations.
- Assist in the continuing growth and development of employees inside the restaurant.
- Support the General Manager with setting and achieving store goals.
- Successfully manage a department (e.g., Kitchen, People, or Guest Services).
- Create and complete goals for your individual department.
- Assist with quality hiring, staffing, and retention.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Guest Service Department Manager: Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience, oversee sales promotions, train service staff, and organize Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
- Kitchen Department Manager: Ensure the restaurant delivers high-quality food quickly and safely, control food costs, and train kitchen staff on production procedures, including new menu items.
- People Department Manager: Hire qualified crew, train them effectively, and schedule staff to meet sales and profit goals. Motivate and recognize crew throughout their employment.
Requirements
- Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Positive team player with a flexible schedule and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in our restaurants.
