Department Manager

This position is with an independent franchisee that operates a restaurant using McDonald’s branding and products. The franchisee is the sole employer and is responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA has no involvement in the hiring process or employment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts each week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience.
• Manage assigned systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management; set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to the team and other managers.
• Guest Service Department Manager: ensure crew and managers deliver a great customer experience, execute sales promotions effectively, train service staff in procedures, and keep the Front Counter McCafé and Drive‑Thru organized for optimal service.
• Kitchen Department Manager: ensure the restaurant delivers high‑quality, fast food; maintain food safety; control food cost; and train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new menu items.
• People Department Manager: hire qualified crew, provide thorough training, schedule staff to meet sales and profit goals, onboard new employees, and recognize and motivate crew throughout their tenure.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with a flexible schedule who enjoys having fun.
• Passion for working in the famously fast‑paced restaurant environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to manage corporate‑owned and operated restaurants.
