Department Manager
About the role
The role involves leading shifts and departments in a McDonald's restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is a separate company and employer, responsible for all employment matters.
Responsibilities
- Lead shifts to ensure fast, accurate, and friendly customer experiences.
- Manage assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
- Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to teams and other managers.
- Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience.
- Manage sales promotions and train service staff in procedures.
- Organize Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
- Ensure the restaurant delivers high-quality food and controls food costs.
- Train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new menu items.
- Hire, train, and schedule crew to meet sales and profit goals.
- Support Crew in getting off to a good start and recognizing their efforts.
Requirements
- Previous managerial experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
- Must be 18 years or older to manage in corporate-owned McDonald's restaurants.
