About the role
As a Department Manager, you’ll lead your team to create an inclusive culture that supports collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit, driving success for your store, customers, and H&M.
Responsibilities
- Customer Sales & Profit
- Ensure the total OMNI customer experience in your store, maintaining visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
- Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
- Identify and act on department strengths and commercial opportunities.
- Create and analyze sales and budget goals, and implement plans to optimize results and profits.
- Manage customer service across all areas of the store and ensure your team promotes and sells products effectively.
- Follow up on sales and sustainability initiatives like the Customer Loyalty App and in-store sustainability.
- Ensure cost efficiency and handle administrative tasks such as transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Stay updated with the fashion scene, trends, and competitors.
- Provide product and fashion knowledge to customers and your team.
- Team & Development
- Recruit, onboard, and develop your team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
- Share knowledge and skills with your team and collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser team.
- Plan and schedule your team, and communicate regularly with store colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with procedures, routines, and legal requirements.
- Retail Operations & Visual & Commercial Execution
- Ensure a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house areas, including stockrooms.
- Secure high-quality, visually appealing product presentation and garment care.
- Manage stock levels and allocate products to the area team.
- Implement the full garment cycle, from delivery to presentation, and maintain fitting room routines.
- Secure a strong balance and maintain price signs according to global and local strategies.
- Update and maintain BOH areas, including key information, health and safety, and tidiness.
- Secure the opening and closing of the store daily.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills and a passion for leading a team.
- Ambitious, effective communicator, supportive, analytical, and capable of working with numbers and managing statistics.
- Highly motivated by performance and competition, with a customer-centric approach.

Compensation: Expected base salary range is $26.60-$30.59 hourly.
