About the role
The Department of Biological Systems Engineering (BSE) at the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks an innovative, dynamic, and collaborative individual to serve as the Head of the Department. This position provides intellectual and strategic leadership for the department.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for the department, ensuring alignment with university and college goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance academic programs, research initiatives, and outreach efforts.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments and colleges to foster interdisciplinary research and educational opportunities.

Requirements
- PhD in Biological Systems Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in academia or industry.
- Proven track record of successful leadership and management.
