About the role
Provides administrative and clerical support for the O and P Department. Shriners Portland is looking for a Department Assistant III to join the O and P team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates staff scheduling with patients and/or other departments utilizing various scheduling procedures, including computerized programs currently in use by the Hospital.
- Provides departmental telephone support; announces and/or routes telephone calls/messages, as appropriate.
- Maintains the Department’s inventory of office supplies.
- Organizes, prioritizes, and accomplishes assigned tasks within established time frames and formats; maintains information retrieval systems which provide access to documents within four minutes.
- Records notes at departmental meetings; accurately produces and distributes meeting minutes within established distribution time schedule.
- Tracks and maintains Performance Improvement and patient data through computer systems utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs currently in use by the Hospital; assists in the analysis of data gathered through these processes; reports monthly information to appropriate individuals by the 4th of each month.
Requirements
- 1 year of computer applications, typing, and general office skills
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (preferred)
- Associate in related field (preferred)
- 2 years of secretarial/receptionist experience (preferred)
- 1 year of scheduling, registration, and insurance verification (preferred)
- 1 year of medical background (preferred)
Pay
Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
