Clinical Assistant-Orthotics

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Clinical Assistant to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This role serves as an important liaison between patients, families, providers, and other care team members in the department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and care providers, focusing on family-centered care.
• Act as a liaison between Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) services and other clinical divisions.
• Keep parents, patients, and associates informed of care plans and schedules.
• Schedule patients via phone, app messages, and email.
• Routinely check task exceptions (TEs) in Epic and route/respond to messages appropriately.
• Utilize critical thinking to make decisions that best satisfy the patient and accomplish agreed-upon goals.
• Participate in and keep updated with divisional huddles.
• Transport materials and products for patient care throughout the facility.
• Maintain proper stock in all rooms and report inventory shortages to ensure timely reordering.
• Serve as a backup for lab technicians.
• Assess and manage clinic flow, including rooming patients and device delivery.
• Function effectively both within a team and independently.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the director or department leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 3 months of job-related experience.
• Patient and customer service experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.
