About the Role
The University of Kentucky is seeking a Department Academic Administration Associate to provide administrative, operational, and program support within an active academic department. This role serves as a central resource for faculty, students, staff, and department leadership, helping coordinate daily operations, support academic programs, and ensure the smooth execution of key departmental functions. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining efficient processes, supporting compliance requirements, and fostering a well-organized environment that supports teaching, research, and student success.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily departmental operations and provide administrative support to department leadership
- Manage calendars, communications, records, and workflow processes
- Support graduate admissions, student records, course scheduling, and academic program activities
- Assist faculty, instructors, staff, and students with administrative, logistical, and operational needs
- Maintain departmental websites, SharePoint sites, Teams channels, listservs, and other communication platforms
- Process travel reimbursements, purchasing requests, and other business-related transactions
- Coordinate departmental records, reports, awards, onboarding activities, and special projects
- Support departmental meetings, events, and program offerings
Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- 4 years of related experience
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with databases, reporting tools, and administrative systems
- Strong customer service skills and professional judgment
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders across the university

Pay & Schedule
Salary range: $17.76-28.43/hour. Position is full-time, Monday–Friday 8:00AM–5:00PM with occasional evenings and weekends based on unit needs. Work location: Lexington, KY.
