Deparment of Economics Part-time Lecturer Pool
California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is a preeminent center of intellectual and cultural activity in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. About the role
The Department of Economics seeks a part-time lecturer to teach lower- and upper-division economics courses. Applicants should have a Master’s or PhD in Economics from an accredited university at the time of employment. The lecturer will be expected to conduct economics courses, hold office hours in accordance with the University’s office hour policy, and support the Department’s mission of student-centered learning in a diverse learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach economics courses at the lower- and upper-division level
- Hold weekly office hours
- Respond in a timely fashion to student requests for help
- Offer additional learning resources for students
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population
- Work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D in Economics from an accredited university at the time of employment
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population
- Experience in ethnically diverse settings and/or a commitment to serving diverse student populations
Special Conditions
- The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083
- A background check (including a criminal records check) is required following a conditional offer of employment
- Applicants may be required to disclose any final administrative or judicial decisions regarding sexual harassment within the last 7 years after meeting minimum qualifications
- Applicants reaching the final stages must sign a release form authorizing the release of employment-related information by current or former employers
- Completion of Sexual Violence Prevention Training is required within 6 months of employment and biennially thereafter
- This position may require filing a Statement of Economic Interest and completing conflict-of-interest training

- Lecturer A (Range 2): $5,507 – $6,677
- Lecturer B (Range 3): $6,221 – $13,224
- Lecturer C (Range 4): $6,825 – $14,523
- Lecturer D (Range 5): $8,593 – $15,211
