Dentist (Bronx/Manhattan)

About the role

The Dentist will diagnose and treat problems with patients’ teeth, gums, and related parts of the mouth. They provide advice and instruction on taking care of the teeth and gums and on diet choices that affect oral health. This employee will work as part of the PCMH team.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, preventive and reconstructive dental services, including but not limited to, diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, treatment of oral conditions and illnesses within the scope of a dental practice, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated.
• Manage patients in the outpatient setting, and refer them to appropriate outside centers as needed for management and treatment.
• Participate in general clinical performance improvement activities including regular peer review of colleagues’ charts.
• Learn and use CFH electronic health record system including practice management software, medical record software, dental record software, and digital radiograph software.
• Regular attendance at scheduled meetings of the dental staff and clinical staff is mandatory.
• Ensure chart completion is consistent with CFH policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree (DDS or DMD) required.
• General Practice Residency (GPR) preferred.
• Current NY dental license and DEA in good standing.
• Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and infection control compliance.
• Current CPR certification.
• Professional liability insurance.
• NPI (National Provider Identifier).

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience; new graduates welcome.
• Self-directed; ability to direct and manage tasks and treat patients independently.
