Dental Therapist Senior/UKHC

Job Summary

This position is located off-campus in Hazard, KY at UKHC North Fork Valley Dental Clinic. The Dental Therapist Senior will assist the dentist in 4-handed dentistry during dental procedures. Will chart for the dentist in an electronic dental record. Will set up and break down dental operatories and properly disinfect. Will chart for the dentist in an electronic record and obtain patient medical info, vitals, prescribed digital radio graphs and help with overall patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Place sealants, temporary restorations, composites and amalgams with minimal adjustment by the dentist
• Pack cord, take opposing impressions, bite registration, fabricate temporary crowns and bridge work
• Pour and trim diagnostic models
• Responsible for dental clinic equipment maintenance and keeping accurate and up-to-date logbooks including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of related experience
• Technical/Skills Training + 3 years experience preferred

Pay & Schedule

• Salary Range: $17.50–$27.31/hour
• Position Time Status: Full-Time
• Shift: Monday – Friday, Day Shift; typically 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (40 hrs/wk)
