$29.12–45.70/hour

Schedule

Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Saturday shift rotation every fifth week.

About the role

The Nurse Clinician Senior – UKHC will serve as a wound/ostomy nurse for UK Health Care. In this position, the ideal candidate will assess and document a patient’s skin integrity to develop a prevention/treatment plan, then communicate the plan and treatment to patients and staff members. Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) certification is required within 24 months of hire.

• Communicate plans and treatments effectively to patients and staff.

Requirements

• BSN (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Knowledge of wound and ostomy care.
• Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) certification within 24 months of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Intermittently stand or walk with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; occasionally with objects up to 25 pounds.
• Lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• Sit at a computer workstation for extended periods; perform tasks with repetitive motions (e.g., typing).
• Work at heights above four feet and in confined spaces.
• Risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials.
• Exposure to loud noises, radiation, cuts/punctures, hazardous chemicals and fumes (including waste), blood-borne or airborne pathogens, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent individuals.
• Some job-related travel (less than 10% of time).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Wound/Ostomy care.
