Central Jersey Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Perth Amboy, NJ. This position is based in Perth Amboy and Newark.
About the role
We are seeking a full-time Dental Registration Clerk. Hours may vary and include evenings and Saturdays, with additional hours available for training and coverage. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 9am–6pm.
Responsibilities
- Book, coordinate, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Greet patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
- Maintain and update current information on providers’ schedules.
- Answer telephone, screen calls, and provide information to callers as needed.
- Contact patients to confirm appointments.
- Assemble patients’ charts and create charts for all new patients.
- Conduct personal interviews to obtain required demographic and insurance information and enter such information into the computer.
- Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
- Contact insurers to verify coverage and confirm primary-care-provider status where necessary.
- Adjust the computer classification of claims to most accurately reflect the expected pay source.
- Answer inquiries from patients and the public in person or via telephone regarding regulations and services; refer inquiries to the appropriate person or department when necessary.
- Perform exit billing and discuss patient’s account balance with the responsible party.
- Handle daily cash collections.
- Maintain a daily log of uncompensated-care applications and other state and local governmental applications.
- Input data into the ancillary database.
- Collect and batch daily encounters.
- Perform other front-end duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office support setting, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently.
