About the role

We are recruiting front office Dental Receptionists to join our team in one of our state-of-the-art health centers. As the first point of contact for our dental patients, you will leave a lasting impact in your local community. Our Dental Receptionists are dedicated team members who help elevate patient care to new heights by addressing each patient with care, compassion, and advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt clerical support and promote smooth patient flow.
  • Collect and record data accurately; maintain order of the front office, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure complete and accurate information for all patient encounters and charge information.
  • Support the organizational mission to provide healthcare access for all community members.
  • Help ensure patients and families receive the care they need when they need it.
  • Communicate consistently and openly with supervisors and staff.
  • Work flexible or extended hours as necessary.
  • Participate in health center in-services and meetings, respecting others’ ideas.
  • Abide by rules of confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Completed training program in Medical Office Assisting from an accredited college is preferred.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s license.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.

Skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
  • Able to quickly build and maintain rapport with patients and providers of differing backgrounds; team player.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Familiar with adult learning and general training techniques.
  • Positive professional insight.
  • Flexibility and dependability.
  • Demonstrated good problem-solving skills; sound judgment.
  • Effective leadership/supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, including email.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-through on work tasks.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds (on wheels).
  • Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those served in-person, and speak clearly to communicate information.
  • Must be able to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms, and clinical and administrative documents.
  • Must have high manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, and twist/turn.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position starts at $22.00 per hour, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
