Dental Office Assistant
The Premier Dental Partners- Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center is seeking a Business Assistant to join their dynamic team. As a Business Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the front office, ensuring smooth operations, and fostering a positive work environment.
About the role
Supporting the front office, you'll handle various duties such as greeting patients, managing phone calls, checking emails, communicating with patients and insurance companies, scheduling appointments, filing insurance claims, processing payments, reviewing treatment plans, and collaborating with providers and the team to optimize office performance.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression
- Manage front office tasks including answering phones, checking mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record management
- Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
- File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage
- Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables
- Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
- Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems
Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Minimum qualifications include 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting, 1+ years of insurance billing and accounts receivable experience, and Dentrix or similar dental software experience
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions periodically
Qualifications
- Pass a tuberculosis (TB) test as part of the pre-employment process
- Regular HIPAA training aligned with the specific role and responsibilities
- Protecting patient health information (PHI) and maintaining data safeguards
