Dental Laboratory Technician

About the role

The primary purpose of the position is to support the VA Central Dental laboratory in the production of dental prostheses and to support VA dental facilities VHA‑wide. Staff assigned to this position manufacture dental prostheses according to providers’ prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Independently accomplish all aspects of fabrication for a wide range of complex dental prostheses supporting dental laboratory operations.
• Develop and demonstrate expertness in all aspects of dental laboratory work; carry out fabrication independently or with minimum supervision.
• Receive lab cases and prescriptions from dental staff and residents; confer with the treating doctor regarding design and fabrication; label cases; determine urgency and prioritize high‑urgency cases; create a work plan for timely completion of remaining cases.
• Directly collaborate with Restorative Dentists, Prosthodontists, or Oral Surgeons to design
