Dental Lab Technician (Dentures)

Responsibilities

• Models - Create models based on denture impressions and prescriptions.
• Pour the impression in dental stone and shape the wax model.
• Fabricate custom impression trays and wax bite rims.
• Set up teeth in the desired occlusal scheme and build up the correct gingival contours.
• Flask the dentures and inject acrylic into the mold.
• Trim and polish the denture.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience as a Dental Lab Technician in a denture fabrication department.
• Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English.

Skills

• Preparing impression material, trimming models, setting and sealing bites, and articulating.
• Setting up teeth in the desired occlusal scheme.
• Waxing dentures for try-in and/or finishing.
• Processing dentures by investing and boiling-out, packing, and finishing.
• Finishing and polishing dentures.
