Primary Responsibilities And Essential Functions Of The Position
- Completely read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.
- Clarify questions with supervisor.
- Confirm that all items needed are present and in suitable condition.
- Choose correct porcelain.
- Build to correct contour, blend and occlusion.
- Fire at correct temperature.
- Add on when necessary.
- Steam clean required items.
- Place units back onto dies, back onto models.
- Return items to proper pan.
- Complete cases according to work ticket schedule, notify supervisor of late cases.
- Scan and initial cases as required.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations as well as standard operating procedures.
- Perform tasks in one primary work station.
- Manipulate small items and hand tools.
- Operate a sandblasting unit as well as a steam cleaner.
- Work with hot ovens.
- Shading.
- Ceramage.
- Tooth Tattooing.
- Clean work area with 409 weekly.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills And Abilities Required
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, excellent perception skills and attention to details.
Minimum Education And Experience Required
- Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- This technician has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience and is skilled in one or more of the skills associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.
Hazardous Materials Or Equipment Used
- Hot ovens.
- Sandblasting unit.
- Steam cleaner.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit for long durations of time.
- Produce cases as per fixed time schedules and required number of units.
