Dental Hygienist (Part time)

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings
• Take radiographic exposures and enter into software program
• Complete oral prophylaxis, including removing calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from the surface of teeth; performing deep periodontal scaling, including root planning, and polishing natural and restored tooth surfaces
• Record and report clinical services provided and findings made during the practice of dental hygiene for the supervising dentist to review
• Provide preventive measures such as sealants, topical application of fluorides, and other topical agents for the prevention of oral disease
• Administer oral systemic pre-medications and subgingival sustained-release, chemotherapeutic agents to patients, and take patient blood pressure prior to administering local anesthesia
• Provide instructions in oral hygiene and plaque control procedures, including brushing and flossing instructions and nutrition as related to dental disease
• Develop and present dental health education materials and programs
• Maintain a system of recall for routine hygiene patients and those with chronic medical conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
• Licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin, free of restrictions, and maintain licensure
• Certified in Dental Anesthesia
