About the role
This position provides dental hygiene treatments and services to patients in clinical and community-based settings, including both clinic-based care and off-site public health activities such as school-based programs, community outreach, and preventive services. The role requires the ability to perform duties independently in both clinic and community settings.

Requirements
- Education: Determined by the Maryland Board of Dental Examiners under the licensing requirements for Dental Hygienist.
- Experience: Two years of experience providing dental hygiene treatments and services as a Dental Hygienist.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Dental Hygienist or Specialist classifications or Dental Hygienist or Specialist specialty codes in the dental field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Dental Hygienist from the Maryland Board of Dental Examiners.
- May be required to successfully complete training in and maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- If assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle, must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the State of Maryland.
