About the role

The Dental Equipment Repair Technician maintains all School of Dentistry clinical and pre-clinical simulation equipment, including troubleshooting and overseeing a preventive maintenance program for the entire clinical operation.

Responsibilities

• Provide repair, installation, maintenance, and instruction related to all dental equipment and diagnostic devices located in the School of Dentistry and satellite clinics.
• Instruct faculty, staff, and students on the care and use of dental equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance service on all dental equipment.
• Maintain service repair request records and related paperwork.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies and process orders as needed.
• Attend seminars on new technology and equipment.
• Work weekends 2-3 times per year on a scheduled basis for student board examinations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five or more years of related experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic/pneumatic, electro-mechanical systems, vacuum pumps/air compressors, and x-ray systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations; prior experience with dental equipment is desirable.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
