Dental Director

NaphCare is hiring an experienced Dental Director to support patients residing in Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) facilities.

About the Role

As the Dental Director, you will oversee clinical operations, quality of care, and staff performance at various ADCRR facility sites. You will ensure quality dental care is provided while protecting the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement dental services policies, procedures, and protocols
• Perform direct dental care services for patients in residence
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standards
• Direct daily dental operations, manage clinic workflows, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, FQHC guidelines)
• Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients’ needs
• Train, supervise, and evaluate dental staff
• Oversee dental program budget

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
• 3–5 years’ experience in general practice residency with administrative experience; corrections experience preferred
• Valid dental license in the state where the facility is located
• Current DEA registration
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Technical skills in providing a full range of dental services
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
