Dental Director
Job Summary
The Dental Director is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and strategic direction of Hamilton Health Center’s Dental Department across multiple service locations. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered dental care while maintaining operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision, and oversight of all dental providers and clinical staff
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered dental services across all locations
- Oversee clinical performance, peer review processes, and provider evaluations
- Develop, implement, and maintain dental policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and all regulatory standards
- Collaborate with leadership on operational planning, staffing models, and patient flow optimization
- Monitor productivity, performance metrics, and departmental outcomes
- Partner with Finance and leadership to develop and manage departmental budgets
- Support revenue cycle initiatives and departmental financial performance
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of dental staff in collaboration with Human Resources
- Investigate and respond to patient complaints in accordance with organizational policy
- Prepare reports, participate in leadership meetings, and support strategic initiatives
- Provide direct patient care as needed, consistent with credentials and privileges
Qualifications
- Required: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited program, Active license to practice Dentistry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Board certification or eligibility through the American Dental Association, Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a dental or clinical setting, Demonstrated experience managing clinical operations, staff performance, and compliance
- Preferred: Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or multi-site healthcare organization, Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and regulatory survey processes, Experience with budgeting, productivity metrics, and revenue cycle performance, Bilingual (Spanish) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of dental practice management and regulatory standards, Proven leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills, Ability to manage multi-site operations and competing priorities, Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to utilize data for decision-making, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and ethical decision-making
Physical & Work Requirements
- Travel between Hamilton Health Center locations required
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform fine motor tasks
