About the Role
As a Dental Assistant at AltaMed, you will assist the dentist(s) and the dental hygienist(s) in providing primary care dental services to patients at the clinic or in the mobile oral health unit. Your responsibilities will include sterilization, preparation, and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies, as well as ensuring proper infection control in all patient care areas.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED certificate required.
- Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act.
- Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting is preferred.
- Coronal Polishing Certification.
- Successful completion of a board-approved course in X-Ray.
- Infection control certification required.
- Valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
- Valid CA Driver's License, if assigned to Mobile Units.
- Successful completion of background DOJ/FBI clearance within 30 days of hire, if assigned to Mobile Units.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Pay
$25.00 hourly. Actual salary offers are considered by various factors, including budget, experience, skills, education, licensure, and certifications, and other business considerations. The range is subject to change. This role may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or incentives.
