Key Responsibilities
- Update patient records and perform X-ray procedures, including panoramic images and intraoral photos
- Record periodontal charting and prepare instruments for provider exams
- Assist with infection control, sterilize instruments, and conduct preventative care such as fluoride treatments
- Monitor nitrous oxide analgesia (Washington only) under supervision
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and assist in infection control protocols
- Support orthodontic procedures, including taking records, fabricating retainers, and handling ligature ties
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS certification within 90 days
- Dental Assistant Registration or EFDA certification
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (level 10)
- Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and oral health care
- Manual dexterity and ability to perform four-handed assisting
- Proficiency with Electronic Dental Records, Outlook, Word, and Excel
