Dental Assistant II (Graduate Clinic)

Department: Health Sciences Center – Full time, regular position located at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, 501 S. Preston Street, Louisville, KY. Additional offsite support at 501 East Chestnut Street, Suite 550, and 982 Eastern Parkway.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two or more years of dental assisting experience
• One year of surgical assisting experience and/or Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) or Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) certification
• Radiology certification
• CPR certification
• Additional certification may be required based on dental specialty

Responsibilities

• Work with faculty, peers, and supervisors to deliver customer service-oriented and patient-centered care
• Serve as chairside dental assistant to dentists as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) or surgical assistant, providing four-hand dental assisting as needed
• Greet, seat, and schedule patients
• Maintain stock of supplies throughout the clinic and order as needed
• Stock, prepare, organize, break down, and clean operatories
• Sterilize clinic instruments following appropriate infection control procedures
• Take radiographs as needed
• Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and Infection Control compliance at all times
• Other duties as assigned

Pay

Target compensation range: $19.51 – $29.27 per hour, commensurate with candidate experience.
