Demo Environment Operations Manager
About the role
The Demo Environment Operations Manager is a hybrid leadership role designed to lead projects and initiatives and drive operational efficiency in the Wiz Demonstration Environment. Functioning as a true working manager, this individual balances people management and strategic project delivery with hands-on engineering duties. In this role, you will lead the overall team of Demo Engineers, oversee day-to-day tasks, drive large-scale event delivery initiatives, and work directly alongside your team to build, troubleshoot, and maintain demonstration environments for global sales and marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage, mentor, and evaluate the team of Demo Engineers, fostering a supportive environment.
- Monitor bandwidth, assign incoming work, and ensure engineers have the tools, guidance, and backing necessary to complete tasks successfully.
- Develop and refine best practices, standards, and guidelines for demo environment creation, maintenance, and scenario lifecycle.
- Track operational metrics (ticket volume, fulfillment times, request types) to identify common pain points and continuously optimize operations.
- Partner closely with Product teams to define long-term demo roadmap and strategy while leveraging deep technical expertise to evaluate feasibility, drive innovative demo capabilities, and architect scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Sales Engineering, Product Marketing, and Executive Leadership to define deliverables and timelines for critical demonstrations.
- Actively pick up and resolve demo requests alongside the team, fulfilling senior engineering responsibilities as needed.
- Design, build, script, and configure demo environments, sample datasets, and cross-product integrations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and lead escalations when required.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience leading technical teams or managing technical operations, ideally within Sales Engineering, Technical Support, or DevOps environments.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), API integrations, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern web stacks.
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, JavaScript) for environment setup and automated testing.
- Experience leading cross-functional delivery teams for corporate events, product launches, or software releases.
Preferred qualifications
- Proven ability to balance leadership/administrative duties with hands-on technical contribution as a working manager without losing momentum on either front.
- Advanced experience managing, configuring, and optimizing workflows in Jira / Jira Service Management.
- Dedication to empowering team members and supporting their day-to-day well-being and career progression.
- Strong composure and organizational skills when juggling competing priorities during crunch periods around key events.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across technical and executive stakeholders.

Pay
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000—$223,000 USD. Compensation includes base salary, bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
