About the Role

The Demand Planner is responsible for the facilitation, implementation, and execution of the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process. This role involves partnering with Sales and Product Management to develop accurate sales forecasts and leveraging analytical expertise and demand planning tools to optimize supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sales & Operations Planning process by preparing and analyzing Demand and Supply data and developing supply plans for the Business Team.
• Serve as a business liaison between Operations and the Business Team.
• Apply analytical expertise to challenge forecasting assumptions and ensure the best possible forecast is reflected.
• Monitor key customer scorecards and communicate discrepancies with the Business Team.
• Monitor finished goods inventory using demand forecasts, historical orders, and software tools to meet operations and customer requirements.
• Track customer demand at each distribution location to ensure forecasts are appropriate by SKU/location, aiming for high customer satisfaction (OTS) at the lowest cost.
• Optimize inventory velocity and minimize obsolete and aged inventory.
• Manage new product introductions and product eliminations while preventing scrap.
• Maintain open communication with customer service and sales to understand customer needs and coordinate with logistics to optimize supply chain efficiency and costs.
• Perform other work and projects as assigned by the Planning Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 5 years of experience in a supply chain role within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Skills

• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
• Strong math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and SAP.
• Ability to develop process expertise to facilitate troubleshooting.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Self-motivated with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
