Delivery Transactions Manager
Airbus Americas, Inc is seeking a Delivery Transactions Manager to join our team in Mobile, AL. This role serves as the principal commercial focal point for all matters related to the Customer Acceptance and Delivery process, both internally and with customers.
About the Role
The Delivery Transactions Manager leads the Customer Acceptance & Delivery Multi-Functional Team (MFT) in commercial matters, negotiating aircraft delivery transactions with customers at any seniority level, including CEOs. The role ensures on-time, on-quality aircraft deliveries at minimum cost and risk for Airbus while maintaining customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include mitigating commercial and financial risks associated with customer requests or aircraft non-compliance to contractual commitments, minimizing exposure on existing fleets or future deliveries, and autonomously settling disputes within defined guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Protect Airbus’ Interests (40%):
- Appraise the commercial/contractual impact of non-compliance through manufacturing to ferry flight.
- Devise commercial settlements for unresolved issues (engineering, manufacturing, supplier, support, contractual, etc.).
- Draft, negotiate, and agree on the Commitment Letter (CL) prior to the Transfer of Title (ToT).
- Manage and coordinate internal and external inputs; escalate problems to management as needed.
- Deliver Aircraft (30%):
- Contribute to Airbus’ delivery targets by proposing innovative commercial solutions to resolve outstanding customer issues.
- Provide feedback on commercial and contractual issues to drive continuous improvement and minimize Airbus’ exposure.
- Build Customer Relationships and Represent (25%):
- Develop strong business/personal relationships with airline representatives and stakeholders.
- Represent Airbus and the Customer Acceptance Delivery (CAD) MFT in internal/external meetings related to aircraft acceptance, delivery, and follow-up activities.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Represent Airbus in front of a worldwide, multicultural customer community to achieve customer satisfaction targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or equivalent.
- Experience working directly with customers.
- Ability to understand and assess customer expectations, needs, and concerns through active listening and clarification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to tailor vocabulary to various audiences.
- Good foundational technical knowledge of aviation.
- Preferred: 7–10 years in leadership roles in aviation.
- Negotiation Skills:
- Ability to develop and execute winning negotiation strategies to meet customer and Airbus requirements.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing customer requirements or requests.
- Ability to identify and respond to customer behaviors and emotions.
- Proficiency in effective communication techniques, including audience assessment, objective setting, tailored messaging, and appropriate tool/channel selection.
- Knowledge and application of company rules and policies, including social media use.
- Foreign language skills (e.g., Spanish, French, German) are recommended.
Working Environment
The role is based at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL, part of the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. The facility, opened in 2015, produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. This site strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and supports Airbus’ global competitiveness by meeting customer needs in the U.S. and beyond.
Travel
Up to 2 international and 4 domestic trips per year.

- Equipment Operation: Ability to operate office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, copiers) and production tools (e.g., hydraulic lifts) (daily).
- Carrying/Lifting: Ability to carry/lift documents, tools, or equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg (daily).
- Pushing/Pulling: Ability to move small office furniture and equipment/tools (daily).
- Sitting/Standing: Ability to sit for extended periods (e.g., meetings, computer work) (daily) and stand for discussions (several times a week).
- Squatting/Kneeling: Ability to retrieve items from low shelving (several times a month).
- Walking: Ability to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces (daily).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Steel-toed shoes required for shop floor visits; additional PPE (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection) may be required.
