Delivery Supervisor Delivery
Purpose
Captures the essence of the role by overseeing shipping activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to insure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Schedules deliveries with customers.
- Studies inventory to identify products to ship.
- Scans transfer tickets.
- Processes incoming and outgoing delivery driver paperwork.
- Manages multiple drivers and pullers.
- Ensures a safe and clean work place.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directs, coordinates, and evaluates the shipping unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Interviews, hires, trains, appraises performance, rewards, and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- Previous experience in shipping department required.
