Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cook up, distribute, and communicate orders to material pullers for picking, packaging, and loading onto delivery trucks.
- Schedule and manage daily delivery routes, maintaining ongoing communication with carriers throughout the day.
- Partner with management to adjust routes based on customer needs and operational priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, drivers, sales staff, and customers.
- Monitor route conditions, including traffic disruptions or construction, and proactively adjust plans to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Respond to last-minute changes, including scheduling urgent or emergency pickups and deliveries.
- Communicate delivery updates or delays to sales staff and customers as needed.
- Aid with order pulling and support warehouse operations when required.
Qualifications
- Graduation from High School or GED equivalent, one (1) year of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
- Minimum one years’ experience with creating delivery routes and dispatching drivers in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of the geographical area and surrounding states the role will be operating in, navigation skills with the ability to understand maps, and GPS.
- Must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong communication skills are critical as this position is in constant contact with carriers, customers and other employees located at all branches and departments of the company.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines.
- Detail oriented with the ability to record and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
Education and Experience
- One (1) year of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Language Skills
- Ability to write routine reports and routine correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze employee technical problems and to recommend the proper course of action.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
Physical Demands

- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
