Delivery Material Handler

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Delivery Material Handlers, working alongside our drivers to ensure the proper delivery of building materials to the job site. Gulfeagle offers several training opportunities to help develop our employees into the next stage of their career.

Responsibilities

• Load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily
• Verify the quantities of materials for accuracy
• Assist driver in locating the job site and spot driver when backing up into a job site
• Direct driver in placement of the conveyor
• Unload or assist in unloading materials by using forklift, crane, conveyor, and/or by hand
• Climb up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof
• Ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof
• Ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery, including filling cooler, strapping materials, loading ladder, and other as needed
• Assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed
• Maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner, including minor repairs as needed
• Aid in the safe operation of vehicles as it relates to the customer’s property and Gulfeagle’s property
• Provide customer service, including aiding customers with materials, reporting problems with deliveries, service issues, and all other as needed

Requirements

• Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location
• Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb
• Must lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time
• Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights
• Ability to work in hot, cold, rain, or shine
• Requires a high degree of attention to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment
• Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply
• Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner
• Must pass substance abuse screening; employees are subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy
